A Successful Business in Recession
14/01/2009 by admin.
Well, we all need to eat. It seems the only type of business doing well these days is the food business, after all we all need to eat each and every day. Most other things we can cut down on or cut out altogether if we are financially stretched but we still need to eat.
The cheap supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi are doing particularly well because their prices are comparatively really good and the quality of most of the items they stock is also very good. Consequently more and more people are using these particular supermarkets, myself included.
Perhaps there is a business opportunity here; we need to think outside the box. Someone could start a small business providing really good food, healthy food at very reasonable prices. There has got to be some opportunity here for the right idea. Get thinking and please post your ideas in the comments section below or on the forum page at www.JoinTheWorld.co.uk or email info@JoinTheWorld.co.uk I am sure that if we all get thinking we can come up with some ideas here to help people survive the recession.

Massive Interest Rate Cuts - Good or Bad?
07/12/2008 by admin.
Ok! So the interest rate has been cut even further. Is this now a good thing? Somehow I don’t think so. What is this going to do to all the pensioners with savings, they have lost their income almost entirely? And, what about the young people trying to save for a deposit to buy their first house? This actually could be very damaging to millions of individuals and to the economy as a whole.
It seems as though the government is grabbing at straws and borrowing huge amounts of money to throw at the many problems. How is it all going to be paid back? The process of paying the money back could be extremely painful. Are we in danger of becoming a bankrupt country? Will we be able to pay back all the money that the government is borrowing? Interesting times ahead…..I guess we will all come through this as better people, but does the government really know what it is doing?

Great News!
06/11/2008 by admin.
Great News Today! The interest rate is down by a massive 1 1/2 per cent, the lowest since 1955! Hopefully the banks and building societies will now drop the mortgage rates and allow people to borrow money again. This in turn should be a help to small businesses and to the property market as well. This has surely got to be a move in the right direction. www.JoinTheWorld.co.uk

Don’t pay over the top for credit
03/11/2008 by admin.
Please avoid companies that are offering a chance for you to pay weekly for your purchases but they charge you the most horrendous amount of interest, sometimes around 30%. This is outrageous and to be avoided. Be careful, read the small print, delay purchasing if you cannot afford the item. Do some overtime or odd jobs for people until you have enough money to pay for the item in cash. When the bank base rate is so low it is rhidiculous to waste money by paying way over the top for credit charges and interest. Think twice, this is a warning to us all. www.JoinTheWorld.co.uk

OK! It’s that word again - SURVIVE RECESSION
23/10/2008 by admin.
The most important thing in a recession is to keep positive, keep happy, be optimistic and determined to survive, also remember to have some fun along the way. This is important for us all and especially for our families. Pull together with your family, keep the bond strong. Keep a positive and happy influence for yourself, your partner and your children. Even if there is no money to go out, you can still do silly things and have a laugh. Laughter is free. Play a silly old fashioned game with your family, tell each other stupid jokes, make toffee apples or bake bread together, play charades, go to a car boot sale and buy some 2nd hand board games or buy favourites like Cluedo from our AShop. There are many more examples of games that given a fair try, can be great fun to play with your family and friends. Remember have fun together, fun is free and laughter is the best medicine. An excellent tonic for us all! Go for it!
